High Density Polyethylene Pipes

Polyethylene pipe is the choice of most reputable installers. High Density Polyethylene Pipe (HDPE) is considered top of the line for geothermal piping because of its superior rigidity, thermal properties, and chemical resistance. This is the same material that is routinely used in city sewer and water pipes.

Geothermal Loop Materials - HDPE

HDPE 50 year warranty and aged to 100 years

Each loop in a field is made up of two equal lengths of pipe that are joined together at one end with a u-shaped fitting to complete the loop. When applied properly these fittings will be stronger than the pipe itself.

Loops can be assembled in the field, or purchased pre-assembled from a manufacturer.

The controlled environment of a manufacturing plant provides the ideal setting for consistently achieving high quality welding of the critical joints. Factory loops also come sealed and pressurized. So when the seal is cut you know instantly if the loop has any leaks.

Most HDPE comes with a 50 year warranty. The HDPE material has been aged out to 100 years.
